George Russell was able to celebrate his victory at the Canadian Grand Prix despite an appeal from Red Bull being dismissed by race stewards over five hours after the race finished. Red Bull had raised concerns about Russell’s behavior behind a late safety car, but the stewards ultimately rejected the claims. Mercedes successfully defended Russell against Red Bull’s allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct, with the stewards concluding that the appeal was unfounded. As a result, Russell’s first win of the year remained intact, allowing him to keep his race win.
